史 諾 頓 酒 莊 

歷經三代的釀酒事業，葡萄園坐落於 Napa Valley 向東面的山坡，俯瞰 Rutherford 和St. Helena 兩鎮，這裡是加州最優秀的葡萄酒產區，而我們的酒莊就在這心臟地帶，且距離Howell Mountain 僅有數百碼之遙，葡萄園在山谷之上，能躲過氣溫的極端變化，土質是排水良好的珍珠岩土，從這優秀的葡萄園生產的酒，有著複雜的層次、強而有力的單寧，和協調的口感，Snowdens悉心照顧這葡萄園，已經歷時五十年。

當Wayne 和 Virginia Snowden 在1955年買下這個酒莊，這裡僅僅只有7英畝的葡萄園，和6英畝的果園，生產的葡萄酒全部出售給當地合作的酒莊，當時只生產混合品種的紅酒和白酒。

第二代Scott and Randy Snowden 從小就耳濡目染，在1981年接續了釀酒的事業，其後的20年，我們的葡萄全部賣給 Stag's Leap Wine Cellars、Stag's Leap 的老闆是多年的好友，他派釀酒顧問 Danny Schuester，來指導我們種植葡萄，訓練員工，何時採收，以達到最佳的品質。

 1993年第一次用自己的品牌開始賣酒，在這之前，仍賣一部分葡萄給其他知名的酒莊 -- Silver Oak Wine Cellars、Frank Family Vineyard、Viader and most recently to David Ramey (以上均為加州知名酒莊，酒價介於$50~$150).

Robert Parker said “Qualitatively ", Snowden is an awakening giant, but as is the case with many Napa estates, production is limited (1,000 cases of The Ranch and 700 of the Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve). These cuvees are produced from one of Napa’s most privileged sites, 23 acres of beautiful hillside vineyards above the Auberge du Soleil, and adjacent to the Sloan and Hall properties. Proprietor Scott Snowden, working with his gifted daughter, Diane (who is married to Jeremy Seysses of Domaine Dujac), and consultant David Ramey, is pushing the pedal to the metal at Snowden.”

第三代  釀酒師 Diana Snowden

Diana Snowden第一份工作是在 Robert Mondavi 酒莊學習釀酒，從此釀酒成了她的夢想，畢業於加州 UC Davis，專研農業和葡萄酒釀酒學，此後到全世界各地知名酒廠，學習釀酒技術，其中有 Araujo in Calistoga、La Fleur de Bouard in Bordeaux、and Domaine Leflaive in Puligny Montrachet.。就在 Robert Mondavi 酒莊學習時，她認識了帥氣的丈夫Jeremy Seysses，她的丈夫就是擁有勃根地最知名的酒莊 Domain Dujac winery，因此她必須法國和加州兩邊跑，不僅擔任自家酒莊的釀酒師，也在 Domaine Dujac 酒莊裡擔任釀酒師和酒窖總管，同時擁有了兩個世界上最知名產區的釀酒技術。

Snowden Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve 2006

"The prodigious 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve (75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, 8% Petit Verdot, and about 5% Cabernet Franc) reveals aromas of flowers, espresso roast, blackberries, and creme de cassis. This exuberant, rich, full-bodied Cabernet coats the palate, but is neither heavy nor overbearing. Sweet, substantial, well-integrated tannins along with decent acidity, and a stunningly long, 50-second finish make for a compelling glass of young, but promising Cabernet Sauvignon. This 2006 should hit its peak in 3-5 years, and last for 25 or more."

 Stephen Tanzer : Currant, minerals, dark chocolate, tobacco, loam, smoke, roast coffee and spicebox scents on the complex nose. Lush, concentrated and broad, with a seamless texture and a captivating restrained sweetness. A wine with serious stuffing, and a step up in intensity and suavity from the Ranch bottling. The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve (86% Cabernet Sauvignon and 14% Cabernet Franc) reveals a character typical of other wines from this site. Espresso roast, cedar, chocolate, black currant, roasted coffee, and scorched earth characteristics result in a Napa version of a top-notch Pessac-Leognan from Bordeaux. In the mouth, the wine is full-bodied, pure, and multidimensional with layers that build incrementally without heaviness. This superb, savory, potentially stunning Cabernet Sauvignon should keep for three decades.

"The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon The Ranch (composed of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc and a dollop of Petit Verdot) offers up aromas of burning embers, blackberries, cassis, licorice, and a touch of bouquet garni. The complex aromatics are followed by a full-bodied wine displaying velvety tannin, and a bold finish with considerable depth as well as length. Drink this excellent Napa Cabernet over the next 15-20 years."

The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon The Ranch (a blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and small amounts of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot) exhibits the extraordinary fragrance, purity, and seamless personality of Bordeaux varietals in this vintage. Full-bodied without any hard edges, this is a remarkably rich, complex, exceptionally pure wine that will get even better with time. It should ultimately eclipse the 2006 because of the nobility of the tannins.
